Keep the conversation flowing! Remember, TIPS stresses that the teacher-parent conversation is the pathway to finding the right card to address the concerns. Remember to ask open-ended questions as a way to elicit more information from the parents. The more you know the easier it will be to “narrow down” the correct card. Sometimes it’s not an easy fix. It’s alright to let the parent know that there are multiple parent cards on a specific topic and if the one you select together doesn’t work, you can certainly try others.
